Compiz Packages Updated
The MEPIS 7.0 pool now contains updates including compiz 0.6.3-1, compizconfig-settings-manager 0.6.0-2, and python-compizconfig 0.6.0-1.

Before trying compiz with KDE, make sure that the Session Manager is configured to "Start with an empty session"
To start compiz from the commandline while running KDE, type:
compiz --replace ccp &
For intel and ati graphics, it may be necessary to modify the Device section of xorg.conf to include:
Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "true"
The compizconfig-settings-manager may fail to display icons. This is a well known bug but it will not affect the operation of the settings manager.
